Activities Of The South Queens Rotary Club

 

South Rotary Queens is Proud to Have Participated in the following activities througout 2026:

 
 
 
  • Collaborated with Freeport Merrick Rotary Club in the Sole4Soles shoe drive.
  • Established an annual Veterans Day Commemoration in the Queens Village Veterans Plaza
  • Collected and distributed personal items needed by homeless veterans in collaboration with other clubs as part of the Epic day of Service since 2023
  • Donated personal hygiene products for women, donated diapers, wipes and formula to support Rotary theme Maternal and Child Health Month
  • Participated in the Alzheimer's Walk since 2022
  • Participated in the Friends of Montfort Walk a Thon since 2024
  • Participated in the Breast Cancer Walk-since 2023
  • Feeding of Ten Families since 2023
  • Created the Dress a Child Legacy Project in 2024
  • Initiated our first International water and sanitation project in 2025
  • Collaborated with RI district 7255 west side clubs- Historic Jackson Heights Gift of a Smile project - sponsored the surgery of one child since 2025
  • Participated in the T-Sign for RYLA
  • Interact students participated in the Spring RYLA Program- since 2025
  • Donation to support the victims of Venezuela due to the devastating earthquake
  • Donation to support the victims of Nepal due to the catastrophic flood
  • Collaborated with RI District 7255 west side clubs- Historic Jackson Heights Blood Drive
  • Participated in various fundraising to fund our scholarship program
  • Participated in our first annual National Night Out-2026
  • Made a monthly contribution to our Lady of Lourdes Food Pantry
  • Donated to PolioPlus
  • Donated to Friend of Montfort-Deaf Education program
  • Supported the Gift of Life Inc annual Gala
  • Supported the Gift of Life program in New York by providing logistical support for children who came from Haiti for cardiac surgery
  • Participated in our first book drive- Donated 5 boxes of books to Book Fairies
  • Members participated in district meetings, international conventions and supported the activities of the Rotary Foundation

  • Collected and distributed personal hygiene products for residents of a battered women's shelter in the community.
  • Collaborated with the Freeport Merrick Rotary Club in the Sole4souls shoe drive - Commemorated Veterans Day at the Queens Village Veterans Plaza honoring the veterans in the community
  • Collected and distributed disaster relief supplies for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey
  • Collected and distributed personal items needed by homeless veterans, in collaboration with three other clubs, as part of the 2023 Rotary Day of Service.
  • Collected personal hygiene items sent to the studentresidents of Institut Montfort residential school for the deaf in Haiti
  • Supported the Gift of Life program in New York by providing lodging and logistical support to two children who came to New York from Haiti to receive cardiac intervention  
  • Initiated a literacy project for the Sacred Heart Catholic Academy by purchasing books for classroom libraries, from kindergarten through eighth grade
  • Participated in the 2023 Alzheimer’s Walk - Collected winter clothing for newly arrived asylum seekers - Supported the activities of the Rotary Foundation.
